League Highest EVER break (Week 17)

Only one place to start Elton Lib A v Elton Lib D. The opening frame saw Konrad Slavinski take on Ian Martin. It produced one of those milestones as Ian Martin compiled the highest break ever recorded in a league match with a magnificent 135 clearance. A tremendous achievement well done Ian. The rest of the match was a quite close affair, but Elton Lib A couldn't recover as the D team won 7-2. It was a top of the table clash as Central C hosted Central D and it turned into a match that flipped on it's head. Ross Kearns took the 4th by (110-47) to give them a comfortable aggregate lead. Central C bounced back in the 5th frame thanks to Simon Mc Govern with breaks of 32 & 25 unfinished took the frame (106-7). Overall the frames were shared but the C team took the aggregate by 17 points to take the match 5-3. Tottington D moved into contention after winning at home 6-2 against Central F. Tottington taking the 1st 4 frames while Central recovered well to take the last 2 frames of the match. This result moved Tottington into 3rd and still have a re-arranged game to play against table toppers Central C. Whitfield A hosted Central E both teams took 3 frames each but Central E took the match after Carl Greaves took his frame (97-21) as Central E took the aggregate with a fair degree of comfort. Walmersley B are hitting form at the right time as they continue to climb the table and make it 3 wins from 4 thanks to a 7-1 at home to Elton Fold A. After losing the 1st frame Walmersley then went on to take the remaining 5 frames with Matt Heaton taking the 2nd (79-40). Elton Lib C closed the gap to Huntley A taking the match 7-2 after taking the final 3 frames.

In the B section Buchanan's finally lost their 0 as they succumbed to Bury Bridge. It was looking pretty straight forward as Buchanan's took the 1st 2 frames by good margins, but the Bridge came back thanks to John Holt the 3rd (83-30) and then the rest of the players took the remaining frames to take the match 6-2. Savanna's consolidated 2nd spot thanks to a 6-2 win against St Mary's B, St Mary's took the 1st and last frames but Savanna's took the ones in between with Ken Li taking his frame (69-19). Central B made the short trip to St Mary's A and only came back with a solitary point as St Mary's dominated with Ben Tyldesley taking the last by a wide margin as St Mary's won 7-1. Seedfield and Whitefield B shared the frames but good wins for Jason Whitworth and Keith Henderson in frames 2 & 4 saw Seedfield take the match 5-3. It was a similar story as Fishpool hosted Stanley. Both teams took 3 frames and good wins for Karl Hardman and Wayne Howarth ensured Fishpool took the match 5-3. Finally another close match too place as Elton Fold B hosted Walmersley A.
